CDW-G Community Relations
Operation Homelink™, in cooperation with CDW-G and the USO of Hampton Roads, presented 100 refurbished computers to the families of the U.S. Army 7th Transportation Group and 8th Transportation Brigade, as well as the U.S. Air Force 1st Fighter Wing at Fort Eustis, Virginia on May 20, 2005. While most service members have access to e-mail on ships or other remote outposts, the situation often is different for their families back home. Junior enlisted military families are often not able to afford computers, and must rely on slow postal service or expensive phone calls to stay in touch.

More than 100 refurbished computers were distributed by CDW-G and the USO to military families of junior enlisted soldiers at Fort Eustis, Virginia. The computers will provide families and loved ones with the ability to communicate with the soldiers while they are deployed overseas.

Soldiers help a military family load their new computer into a car. The junior enlisted soldiers will now be able to e-mail messages, photos, and other digital media to their families on a daily basis while deployed overseas.

A soldier takes some time to help a military family with their newly refurbished computer. With the help of the USO and Operation Homelink, CDW-G provided 100 computers to the families of junior enlisted soldiers who are set to deploy to Iraq in the coming months.

This military family is all smiles as they leave the Operation Homelink Event at Fort Eustis on May 20, 2005. CDW-G, in cooperation with Operation Homelink and the USO, provided families like this one with refurbished computers, allowing families to stay in close contact while their loved ones are deployed overseas.
