CDW-G and Discovery Education Launch Win a Wireless Lab 2008

Five Schools Will Win a 21st-Century Classroom in Program's Sixth Year

VERNON HILLS, Ill., and SILVER SPRING, Md. - January 9, 2008 - CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), a wholly owned subsidiary of CDW Corporation and leading source of Information Technology (IT) solutions to governments and educators, and Discovery Education, the leader in digital video and multimedia-based learning, today announced the sixth annual "Win a Wireless Lab" sweepstakes, giving schools nationwide the opportunity to win a 21st-Century Classroom, complete with wireless computers, interactive whiteboards and digital cameras. Since 2003, CDW-G and Discovery Education have awarded more than $850,000 in education technology to 13 school communities through the sweepstakes, giving teachers the opportunity to challenge and engage students by bringing the classroom to life with technology.

"CDW-G is excited about this year's program, which will focus on delivering the 21st-Century Classroom to five K-12 schools around the country. The interactive whiteboards, and tablet and notebook computers, enable teachers to be more flexible in their teaching styles and significantly enhance students' learning experiences," said Bob Kirby, senior director, K-12, CDW-G. "Considering the vast advancements made in technology every year, we want to help students keep pace with these changes and stay on par with contemporary skill development. Integrating hands-on technology into the daily curriculum is an integral step toward achieving this goal."

"Discovery Education is pleased to continue the partnership with CDW-G in the Win a Wireless Lab program's sixth year. This year, Discovery Education will award a $5,000 grant to each of five schools, which will enable them to select state-of-the-art technology that meets their specific needs," said Mary Rollins, director, Discovery Education. "The 2007 program produced a record 170,500 entries. We look forward to expanding the program in 2008 and continuing to help schools realize the remarkable benefits of education technology."

Win a Wireless Lab 2004 winner Bonnie Gilbertson, science teacher at Colman-Eagan High School, said laptops have completely changed the way she teaches. "Our students use high-tech data collection technology in the science labs, which gives them more time to focus on understanding the valuable concepts and practices involved in learning," Gilbertson said.

The sweepstakes opened January 3, 2008, with entries being accepted until May 1, 2008. CDW-G and Discovery Education encourage public and private school teachers, administrators and school and district technology specialists, to enter by filling out an online form available at http://www.discoveryeducation.com/cdwg.
