CDW-G and Discovery Education Provide Instructional Technology to K-12 Schools

Fourth Annual Win a Wireless Lab Sweepstakes Donates $100,000 in Technology Prizes

Vernon Hills, IL and Silver Spring, MD - January 10, 2006 - CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G) - a wholly owned subsidiary of CDW Corporation [NASDAQ: CDWC] and leading source of information technology solutions to governments and educators - and Discovery Education, the leader in digital video-based learning, today announced their fourth annual "Win a Wireless Lab" sweepstakes. Dedicated to improving the use of technology within the educational community, the two companies established the sweepstakes in 2002 to provide K-12 schools within the United States with the opportunity to win technology for its classrooms.

"We are excited to partner with Discovery Education again in this year's 'Win a Wireless Lab' sweepstakes, aimed at improving educators' access to instructional technology. These wireless labs can make a remarkable difference in the way teachers teach and students learn," said Chris Rother, CDW-G vice president of education sales. "With their wireless Tablet PCs and instructional software, the labs will enable teachers to revolutionize the classroom environment. Students will be able to work more collaboratively and, hopefully, become captivated by the learning process. This year we will award two grand prize winners and more than 30 runner-up prizes of printers and software from CDW-G and multimedia resources from Discovery Education."

The sweepstakes runs from January 10, 2006 to May 1, 2006. Public and private school teachers, administrators, and school and district technology specialists are eligible to enter by filling out an online form at Winners will be selected by a random drawing from all eligible entries.

The first wireless computer lab grand prize includes: 20 HP Tablet PCs, a PolyVision Lightning RM Easiteach calibration-free interactive white board, an HP LCD projector and an HP LaserJet printer. The second wireless computer lab grand prize includes: 20 Lenovo Tablet PCs, a PolyVision Lightning RM Easiteach calibration-free interactive white board, an InFocus LCD projector and an HP LaserJet printer. The wireless labs are installed on a Bretford wireless cart with three NETGEAR access points enabling educators to easily transport the Tablet PCs, projector and printer from one classroom to another. In addition, an APC back up unit, 20 Corel software licenses and a networked collection of Discovery School life, earth and physical science CD-ROMs are part of the grand prize packages. Each grand prize value exceeds $40,000.

Winners will be announced in July, 2006. On-site training from CDW-G and Discovery Education are provided to both "Win a Wireless Lab" sweepstakes winners. Additional prizes include Toshiba projectors, Lexmark printers, Adobe software, Brother printers and $500 worth of multimedia resources from Discovery Education.

"The number of educator sweepstakes entries grows each year - an increase of more than 30 percent last year yielded over 78,000 entries," said Paul Thomas, vice president of Discovery Education. "The 'Win a Wireless Lab' sweepstakes stretches across the nation and allows schools the opportunity to win technology that might otherwise be beyond their budgets. We are pleased to partner with CDW-G on a project that has become so successful."

In addition to the online sweepstakes, CDW-G and Discovery Education will mail a sweepstakes poster to school and district technology directors in January 2006. Last September, curriculum kits on multimedia creativity were sent to middle school and district technology directors. The kits included a poster, a Teacher's Resource Guide with ideas and lesson plans for class or school digital media projects, and the Discovery School Image Gallery CD-ROM. PDF versions of the poster and Teacher's Resource Guide can be downloaded from
