CDW-G Announces Multiple State Award Contract Wins

Vernon Hills, IL - February 22, 2005 - CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), the government and education subsidiary of CDW Corporation [Nasdaq: CDWC] and leading supplier of brand-name Information Technology (IT) products and services to governments and educators, today announced that it will provide technology solutions to government agencies in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and digital camera products to the State of Ohio.

Massachusetts
CDW-G acquired its first contract with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts through a demonstrated ability to quickly deliver technology solutions tailored to the commonwealth's IT needs and because of its extensive PalmOne line. Under a multiple-award contract, CDW-G will provide a variety of PalmOne Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) models and related accessories to all Massachusetts agencies. The PDA models provided by CDW-G will include: Treo 650; Tungsten E, C, and T5; and Zire 21 and 31.

CDW-G is the sole provider of PalmOne products on the two-year, multiple-award contract, which has five one-year extension periods. The contract, which makes available to state organizations a range of IT products, is estimated to be worth $64 million among all vendors over the initial two-year term. Twenty-four vendors won spots on the contract in six categories: desktop, laptop and tablet computers; mobile computing equipment, including PalmOne products; storage technology; servers; maintenance, integration and hardware; and non-Wintel desktops, laptops and compatible computers. All state organizations can use the contract, including primary, secondary and post-secondary educational institutions.

Boston College recently purchased 50 Zire 31 PDAs under the contract with CDW-G, in order to address data collection needs for a professor in psychology, said Ted Gaiser, director of academic and research services.

"We're experiencing increased interest in using handheld devices for academic purposes, such as data collection," Gaiser said. "The benefits that handhelds provide lead us to anticipate a growing demand in research as well as in disciplines such as nursing, for clinical information management."

"Our partnership with CDW-G delivers cost savings, along with quality products and services that address academic needs," Gaiser added.

Ohio
CDW-G is one of three vendors on a multiple-award contract for 35MM and digital cameras. The three-year contract is estimated to be worth up to $100,000 to CDW-G annually. Under the contract, CDW-G is the sole provider of HP, Kodak and Konica Minolta digital cameras. State agencies may make purchases under this contract up to $2,500 per order, per day, using the State of Ohio procurement card. Higher-quantity buys may be made by purchase order.

"CDW-G continues to provide state and local agencies with the best combination of technical expertise, competitive pricing and rapid turnaround times," said Chris Rother, CDW-G vice president of state and local sales. "These two new contracts enable us to offer the best solutions effectively and efficiently, and are the next natural step in CDW-G's efforts to satisfy the full technical specification, procurement and configuration needs of our customers."

CDW-G has additional information technology contracts available for use in 48 states. Under these contracts, CDW-G offers schools, as well as state and local agencies, a broad range of technology solutions, including computers, software, peripherals, accessories and related services at competitive prices.
