CDW-G Builds Momentum in Federal Sector With ECS, GSA and SEWP Contracts Portfolio Complements 2003 Gains

Vernon Hills, Ill. - March 11, 2004 - CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), the government and education subsidiary of CDW Corporation (Nasdaq: CDWC), today announced that with the recent NASA Scientific and Engineering Workstation Procurement (SEWP) III contract addition, the company broadens its reach in serving federal agencies and authorized contractors while further propelling the company's growth in government sales. CDW-G also retains National Institute of Health's Electronic Commodity Store III (ECS) and GSA contracts, which helped increase 2003 public sector sales to more than $1 billion.

"With the support of our existing contracts such as GSA and ECS, CDW-G experienced a record-breaking fourth quarter in 2003," said Jim Shanks, president of CDW-G. "In February 2004, CDW's average daily sales were $20.9 million, an increase of 31 percent, versus average daily sales of $15.9 million for February 2003. Our public sector segment generated strong double-digit growth in both January and February of this year. We expect the additional reach of SEWP will help continue to drive growth."

Last month, CDW-G acquired the rights to select assets of T3 Corporation's Scientific Information Technology Products Division that included the SEWP contract.
