(CDW-G), today announced that the Marine Corps Systems Command (MarCorSysCom) has awarded it a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) for computer hardware. The BPA is a one-year award that includes two annual renewal options. Over the life of the BPA, the Marines may purchase more than 4,000 servers, desktops, and laptops. CDW-G met the Marine Corps' stringent requirements that included capabilities to offer advanced asset tagging and hardware configuration services that support logistics management. The BPA is also open to the Navy, Coast Guard and other Department of Defense (DoD) customers. As part of the BPA, CDW-G is offering the Marines six IBM x-series servers, three ThinkPad models and a NetVista model custom configured to meet Marine Corps requirements. These configurations include Rapid Restore technology for quick system restoration in the event of a failure. In addition, CDW-G is teaming with Ichiban, a Virginia-based IT services firm that will provide technical services at global customer sites.
