CDW-G to Open Ordering on Army's Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Hardware Contract April 12
CDW-G is the Only Large Business Accepting Orders for all Information Technology (IT) Products on both ITES-2H and All Three Modules of the Army's ADMC-2 Contract
HERNDON, Va. - April 11, 2007 - CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), a wholly owned subsidiary of CDW Corporation [NASDAQ: CDWC] and leading source of Information Technology (IT) solutions to governments and educators, today announced that on April 12 it would open for orders on the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Hardware (ITES-2H) contract. The Army estimates the value of the indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for all contract holders combined at $5 billion over a five-year period, if all options are exercised.
The Information Technology, E-Commerce and Commercial Contracting Center awarded the contract to CDW-G and three other large enterprises, as well as two small businesses. Under the contract, CDW-G will support the Army's requirements for servers, workstations, network-managed personal computers, thin-client terminals, storage, networking equipment, document processors and printers, peripherals, software, accessories and ancillary products. Other U.S. military departments and agencies, as well as Federal civilian agencies, also can take advantage of the economies of scale and value-added services offered by CDW-G by ordering on the ITES-2H vehicle.
CDW-G is the only large business accepting orders for all IT products on both ITES-2H and all three modules of the Army Desktop and Mobile Computing-2, awarded in April 2006.
In addition to industry-best products, CDW-G will provide support services under ITES-2H including site surveys, system configuration/integration, system migrations, image loading, data migration, extended equipment warranties, legacy equipment maintenance and installation. Under ADMC-2, CDW-G currently supports the Army's requirements for commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware, software, printers, peripherals and accessories, and providing support services including asset tagging, system configuration and integration, custom imaging, installation and asset disposal.
"Through the Army's ITES-2H and ADMC-2 contracts, CDW-G is uniquely positioned to fulfill the Army's total IT product needs," said Ben Bourbon, director of Department of Defense sales for CDW-G. "Together, ITES-2H and ADMC-2 enable the Army to secure the full range of world-class technology solutions in support of its enterprise infrastructure and infostructure goals."
CDW-G's industry-leading business model includes a variety of easy-to-use benefits offered through the company's award-winning extranet program. Complementing the Army Small Computer Program IT e-mart, ITES-2H customers receive access to a secure, customized CDW-G extranet site containing product information as well as their account team contacts and purchase history. These customers can track their purchases, manage asset-tagged hardware and order configured products via the extranet site. CDW-G's custom extranets ensure a simple, comprehensive purchasing interface to better control the procurement process.
