CDW and CDW-G Honored at VMware Partner Exchange 2009

Company Named VMware Corporate Reseller of the Year and Federal Partner of the Year

VERNON HILLS, Ill. - May 18, 2009 - CDW Corporation, a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government and education, today announced that it was named the VMware Corporate Reseller of the Year. CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), a wholly owned subsidiary of CDW, was also honored, receiving the VMware Federal Partner of the Year award. The awards, presented at the VMware Partner Exchange 2009, recognize key performances and outstanding achievements by VMware channel partners in the delivery of VMware solutions to organizations of all sizes.

"We are happy to recognize the great work that CDW has done throughout the year in growing their virtualization practice, and this is our time to show our appreciation for all that they do," said Doug Smith, senior director of global channels, VMware. "CDW has demonstrated excellence in the past year in providing VMware virtualization solutions to customers of all sizes, and we look forward to their continued success in bringing customers the benefits of VMware vSphere™ 4, the industry's first operating system for building the internal cloud."

CDW is a member of VMware's Partner Technical Advisory Board (PTAB) and has more than 1,300 account managers on staff who have achieved their VMware Sales Professional (VSP) accreditation.

"CDW works every day to help our customers deploy technology solutions that improve day-to-day operations and overall performance and cost efficiencies," said Matt Troka, CDW vice president, product and partner management. "VMware's pioneering virtualization solutions are key to our efforts. We are honored to receive this award and continue to value our relationship as a means to offer customers virtualization solutions tailored to their specific needs."

"Not only does our relationship with VMware expand the depth and breadth of our product offerings, but it also enables us to provide our customers with solutions that improve data center performance while driving down costs - critically important objectives for Federal agencies, big and small," said Andy Lausch, vice president of Federal sales for CDW-G.

CDW is among a handful of VMware partners worldwide to provide Capacity Planner assessments remotely, along with a detailed solution tailored for each customer. CDW's professional services consultants are part of the VMware Authorized Consultant (VAC) Program and have provided more than 300 virtualization assessments and 150 server virtualization engagements since 2003.

Further, CDW recently announced a new assessment services offering that enables qualifying medium- and large-size businesses, as well as Federal civilian agencies, state and local government agencies, healthcare organizations, K-12 schools and higher education institutions served by CDW-G to consider the potential benefits of server virtualization at no cost and with minimal effort required from the participant. The core of the offerings - developed and refined by the CDW virtualization assessment team working with a number of customers during 2008 and early 2009 - include a Self-Guided Assessment (SGA) and a Server Virtualization Assessment (SVA) based on VMware virtualization solutions.
