CDW-G Recognizes Art Portfolio Gold Award Recipient; Florida High School Senior Named One of America's Top Young Artists

Brandon Foy to be recognized at Carnegie Hall with the CDW-G Art Portfolio, Gold Award $10,000 scholarship for Top Honors in The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2006

Vernon Hills, Ill. - June 8, 2006 - CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), a wholly owned subsidiary of CDW Corporation [NASDAQ: CDWC] and leading source of Information Technology (IT) solutions to governments and educators, today announced that Brandon Foy of Tamarac, Fla., is one of 12 high-school seniors honored with the National Portfolio Gold Award of The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2006 and a $10,000 scholarship from CDW-G. Foy is being recognized for three music-inspired pieces in the computer art category. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, administered by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, encourages the next generation of American artists by showcasing outstanding visual art and writing to a national audience and encouraging teen artists' creative journey and career development.

"Technology brings the next generation's artistic vision to life in ways that we could not imagine twenty years ago," said Chris Rother, group vice-president, sales, CDW-G. "Technology is the new muse, and it is an honor to see firsthand how bright the future is for American art. Brandon Foy and the other recipients of The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2006 represent the best young artists in our country today." Rother will present Foy with his award and scholarship at the awards ceremony of The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2006 this evening at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

CDW-G is committed to improving education through technology and has a long-standing history of supporting creativity in the arts. Working with leading technology partners, CDW-G has sought to recognize emerging artists and writers through numerous scholarship contests and, in 2005, became a presenting sponsor of The Scholastic Arts & Writing Awards in support of the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers.

Foy will attend Full Sail Real World Art School in Orlando, Fla., in the fall, majoring in Studio Art with a concentration in Electronic Media. Donna Haynes, Foy's art teacher at J.P. Taravella High School in Coral Springs, Fla., noted, "Brandon is highly motivated and extremely dedicated to his art. During high school, he gained skills in many artistic areas and was fascinated by the combinations of materials and techniques."

Foy's work was selected from among more than 250,000 works of art and writing, submitted through 90 regional affiliate programs across the nation for consideration in 25 categories of art and writing. His art reflects a desire to connect with his audience and to share his visual representation of music, the inspiration for his art. In his artist's statement, submitted with his nomination, Foy said, "art, in the form of music, computer graphics, graffiti and any other medium, makes life and the problems it may bring, clear and understandable…Art is my life, and I wouldn't be able to live without it."
