CDW-G to Offer Federal Government Customers Access to Fastest National Wireless Data Network with AT&T Wireless

Herndon, VA - August 17, 2004 - CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), the government and education subsidiary of CDW Corporation [Nasdaq: CDWC], today announced it has signed a Data Solutions Provider agreement with AT&T Wireless to stock, sell and activate data devices enabled for AT&T Wireless' GSM-based wireless data network.

These devices include the popular Research In Motion (RIM) BlackBerry® Wireless Handheld devices enabled for AT&T Wireless' nationwide GPRS network and wireless modem cards enabled for use with its high-speed EDGE service, the fastest national wireless data network in the U.S.

The BlackBerry devices can be bundled with Common Access Card (CAC) readers, providing users from public sector agencies with a secure email solution conforming to federal, state and local governments' standards. The products also are available to commercial organizations via CDW-G's parent company, CDW.

CDW-G will offer unlimited, annual domestic billing on the AT&T Wireless BlackBerry, Palm, and EDGE AirCard products. The unlimited, annual plans are available for voice and data. CDW-G will serve as the single point of contact for hardware, software and airtime services. CDW-G government customers who use EDGE will be able to take more of their office with them when they are on the go, even when abroad. EDGE will give them access to greater amounts of mission critical information commonly stored on high bandwidth applications and in large databases.

"Traditionally, users of mobile devices have had limitations on the types of data and the amounts of information they are able to access due to connection speeds and service availability," said Max Peterson, vice president, federal sales for CDW-G. "By making AT&T Wireless' high-speed data services available to our customers, we are giving them an opportunity to be even more productive and responsive when they are out in the field."

"Our alliance with CDW-G will pool the proven capabilities of two industry leaders to provide complete wireless data solutions to government agencies," said Valerie Kahn, vice president, business alliance channel, for AT&T Wireless. "This relationship will give government users many advantages, including secure wireless access to important information here in the U.S. and abroad."

On average, EDGE is more than three times faster than traditional 56k dial-up, and is available in 7,500 cities and towns across the country and along 30,000 miles of interstate highways. In addition, when using the recently introduced Sony-Ericsson GC-83 PC Modem Card, CDW-G government customers also will be able to access EDGE in areas of Brazil, Canada, Chile, Finland, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico and several other countries.

Government BlackBerry users also will be able to use their devices when traveling internationally thanks to data roaming agreements AT&T Wireless has with carriers in more than 50 countries worldwide.

CDW-G and AT&T Wireless will provide federal customers with access to the widest variety of BlackBerry devices operating on a national wireless service since AT&T Wireless offers four BlackBerry models, more than any other wireless carrier in the U.S. In addition, CDW-G will be offering the Treo™ 600 and Tungsten™ W from palmOne™, the Audiovox® PPC4100 Pocket PC, and the Motorola MPx 200 smartphone, all of which are enabled for the AT&T Wireless GPRS network.
