CDW-G Adds New Companies to Small Business Partner Consortium
Consortium Helps Small Businesses Win Federal Information Technology Contracts

HERNDON, Va.September 8, 2009 – CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), a wholly owned subsidiary of CDW Corporation and leading source of Information Technology (IT) solutions to governments and educators, announced today that it added four new companies to its Small Business Partner Consortium and renewed the one-year contract options of eight current consortium members.

The new members were selected through a competitive process that began in April with CDW-G's request for proposals soliciting additional small businesses to partner with CDW-G on Federal business opportunities. The consortium, launched in 2003, was created to help small businesses compete more effectively for IT contracts with Federal agencies with the backing of CDW-G's extensive e-commerce, service and distribution capabilities. Since the inception of the consortium, members have been awarded more than $125 million in Federal contracts.

Since 2003, many Federal defense and civilian agencies – from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to the U.S. Army to the U.S. Marine Corps – have utilized the consortium to purchase technology products and services.

The Small Business Act requires that 23 percent of prime contract dollars go to small businesses. In fiscal year 2007, small businesses fell just short of capturing the government-wide goal, securing 22 percent of Federal prime contracting dollars, according to the Small Business Administration (SBA). However, small businesses won a record $83.2 billion in business with the Federal government, more than $6 billion more than in fiscal year 2006, according to SBA data.

"The CDW-G Small Business Partner Consortium is a mutually beneficial proposition for both Federal agencies and their small business IT providers," said Andy Lausch, vice president of federal sales for CDW-G. "Consortium members expand their service offerings by harnessing CDW-G's breadth and depth of products to provide Federal agencies with technology solutions that meet their specific requirements. Federal agencies work to fulfill their small business contracting goals with a trusted group of IT firms. At the same time, CDW-G expands both its Federal contracts base and its roster of superior IT services companies."

CDW-G Small Business Partner Consortium members are included in numerous Federal small business categories, and some members occupy more than one category. Overall, the consortium includes eight 8(a) companies, two HUBZone companies, eight small disadvantaged companies, two service-disabled veteran-owned companies and one woman-owned company.

HGM Management and Technologies, Inc., a small disadvantaged and 8(a) business, joined the CDW-G Small Business Partner Consortium this year. HGM, headquartered in Washington, provides a full range of consulting and training services, as well as systems integration for public and private organizations.

"The CDW-G Small Business Partner Consortium provides us with access to leading-edge products, allowing us to augment the services we provide to our Federal agency customers in support of their mission-critical IT requirements," said Horace McCormack, president and CEO, HGM Management and Technologies. "This partnership helps us deliver on our promise to each Federal customer – to improve management, organizational and business objectives."

The four new members of the CDW-G Small Business Partner Consortium are:
  • HGM Management and Technologies, Inc., Washington, D.C. – Small disadvantaged, 8(a)
  • Managed Business Solutions, LLC, Colorado Springs, Colo. – Small disadvantaged, 8(a)
  • PearlNet, LLC, Atlanta, Ga. – Small disadvantaged, 8(a)
  • Timus, Inc. Jacksonville, Fla. – Small disadvantaged, 8(a)

  • Betis Group, Inc., Arlington, Va. – 8(a), HUBZone, small disadvantaged
  • Global Technology Resources, Inc., Denver, Colo. – 8(a), small disadvantaged, HUBZone
  • Govplace, Irvine, Calif.
  • Knowledge Information Solutions, Inc., Virginia Beach, Va. – 8(a), small disadvantaged, woman-owned
  • Management Systems Services, Inc., Rockville, Md.
  • USfalcon, Inc., Lowell, Mass. – 8(a), service-disabled veteran-owned, small disadvantaged
  • Veterans Tech, LLC, Colorado Springs, Colo. – Service-disabled veteran-owned
Betis Group is entering its seventh year in the CDW-G Small Business Partner Consortium and has more than a decade of experience delivering essential IT services to Federal agencies.

"Participating in the CDW-G Small Business Partner Consortium empowers us to deliver a broader and deeper range of leading-edge technology solutions to complement our portfolio of systems integration and IT services capabilities," said Hernan Cortes, president, Betis Group. "We have seen tremendous success with our relationship with CDW-G – exceeding our goals and enabling us to expand into Texas and Florida. We look forward to continuing this success in the coming year."
