CDW-G Promotes Chris Rother to Vice President

Vernon Hills, Ill. - September 30, 2002 - CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), a wholly owned subsidiary of CDW Computer Centers, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDWC), today announced that Chris Rother has been promoted to vice president responsible for leading the company's inside and field sales forces for state and local and education markets. Previously, she was executive director.

Rother joined CDW in 1991 and was a member of the original team that launched CDW-G in 1998. She reports to CDW-G Senior Vice President Larry Kirsch and is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
